Closing Ceremony of 2nd AP IEOM 2021: IEOM Society Awards Universitas Sebelas Maret

Solopos.com, SOLO –  Universitas Sebelas Maret was successful as host of the Second Asia Pacific Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (2nd APIEOM), September 13-16, 2021.

This event was including 700+ submissions papers; 15 outstanding keynote speakers; 18 global engineering education speakers; 17 industry solutions speakers; 18 global supply chain & logistics speakers; and five-panel sessions with 30 panels from 35 countries. IEOM Society International appreciated Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) as the host and also local partners including Diponegoro University; UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, Telkom University, Tarumanagara University; and the Indonesian industrial engineering higher education institution cooperation agency.

At the closing ceremony, IEOM Society awards UNS for support and services in the profession of industrial engineering and operations management. Distinguished Academic Leadership Award presented to Prof. Dr. Kuncoro Diharjo for his outstanding support and encouragement to promote IEOM and as honorary chair of this event. Dean of Faculty Engineering UNS, Dr. techn. Ir. Sholihin As’ad, MT awarded by Distinguished Educator Award for his outstanding lifelong contribution, dedication, support, and services in engineering education.

He initiated the Indonesian Engineering Education Conference in conjunction with the 25th IEOM Global Engineering Education for discussing how to reduce the readiness gap of engineering graduates around the world. This conference is a part of the long collaboration with IEOM Society International that was initiated by the Industrial Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sebelas Maret in 2018.

IEOM Indonesia Conference Service Award presented to Dr. Eko Liquiddanu, ST, MT, as Head of Industrial Engineering Study Programme, UNS as his outstanding support and services for the 2nd AP IEOM 2021. And, Prof. Dr. Ir. Susy Susmartini MSIE, awarded by Distinguished Professor Award as her outstanding lifelong contribution to advancing Industrial Engineering in Indonesia.

IEOM Society also awards outstanding keynote speakers. Outstanding Professor Award presented to Dr. Jessika E. Trancik, from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, USA. She focused on the electrification of vehicles and the positive impact on the environment. Dr. Trancik is currently working with Indonesian universities on this topic as well.

Awards and recognition sessions are a live-zoom event presented by Dr. Ahad Ali as Director Executive of IEOM Society International from Southfield, Michigan 48076, USA. “The ceremony is closed by the announcement for best paper and winner of students competition, includes undergraduate, graduate, doctoral dissertations, simulation, capstone design, supply chain, human factors and Covid-19” as reported by Prof. Dr. Wahyudi Sutopo, ST, MT from Industrial Engineering UNS as chair of this conference.
